Bangladesh’s 45th Bangladesh Civil Service recruitment reached its appointment stage on Wednesday, when the Ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette naming 1,702 candidates for entry-level cadre posts. That is 105 fewer than the 1,807 candidates recommended by the Public Service Commission (PSC) in November 2025.
The newly appointed officials must report to offices designated by their cadre-controlling ministries or divisions by 1 November. The gazette says that, unless a later instruction changes the date, a candidate who does not report will be treated as having declined the appointment and the appointment will be cancelled, Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha reported.
The appointees will enter Grade 9 under the National Pay Scale 2026, with a basic salary scale of Tk 44,000 to Tk 105,900. The figure is the stated basic pay range, not a take-home salary. They must also complete basic training at the Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre or another designated institute.
Of the appointments, 266 are in the administration cadre, 71 in the police cadre and nine in the foreign service, BSS reported. The Daily Star said the gazette did not explain why 105 PSC-recommended candidates were not included.
The PSC published the final 45th BCS results on 26 November 2025. The recruitment process began in November 2022, according to BSS.
