Renata PLC, one of Bangladesh's largest pharmaceutical makers, reported a consolidated profit of Tk 364 crore for the 2025-26 fiscal year, up 64% from Tk 222 crore a year earlier, according to its financial statements.
Revenue rose 7.7% year on year to Tk 4,620 crore, the first time it has crossed Tk 4,600 crore. The board approved the annual accounts and recommended a 55% cash dividend, or Tk 5.50 a share, unchanged from the previous year, at a meeting on Saturday. The annual general meeting is set for 19 December and the record date for the dividend is 15 November.
The company attributed the profit growth to higher sales volumes, better procurement and inventory management, and lower financing costs. Its core domestic pharmaceutical business, which supplies more than 70% of revenue, grew 11.6%. Exports through its Ireland unit rose 12.2% and through its UK unit 13.8%. Contract manufacturing revenue fell 11.9%.
Renata cut total debt by Tk 459 crore during the year to Tk 1,429 crore, and net financing costs fell 22.4%, helped by a shift from short-term borrowing to longer-term funding, a loan facility from the International Finance Corporation and Tk 325 crore in convertible preference shares issued in October 2025.
The company has more than tripled its revenue in a decade, from Tk 1,474 crore in 2015. Even so, its share price fell by more than Tk 1 to Tk 448 on the Dhaka bourse on Saturday, the day the figures were released.
